Welcome to our July Cooking Class Series, Coastal Caribbean! In this series, we will learn how to make fresh Island Ceviche, Caribbean Shrimp and Pineapple Stir Fry and Spicy Jerk Lionfish Escovitch!

Do you enjoy eating fresh seafood at your favorite restaurant, but find yourself struggling to cook it at home? Would you like to “Spice Up” your weekly dinner menu at home? Are you and your friends or family looking for an out of the ordinary fun evening out without all the crowds? If you answered YES, these classes are for you!

Our goal is to teach you just how simple it can be to cook restaurant quality seafood, from the comfort of your own home. You do not need to bring anything, just come ready to have a lot of fun, laugh at cheesy jokes, eat some great food, meet some new friends and maybe learn something new.

Each class will consist of hands-on instruction of a variety of dishes based on our monthly theme. Class will typically start with some knife work including chopping, dicing and slicing, and then we will take our work and create some delicious yet simple meals.  You will leave not only with hands-on experience and knowledge, but also the original recipes of the dishes taught in class, so you can get to work at home.

**Cooking Classes are now BYOB. Please feel free to bring your choice of beer or wine to class with you. We will provide wine cork and glasses. Please drink responsibly and remember that it is illegal to drive with open alcohol containers in the passenger compartment of your car.**

-Fresh Island Ceviche

Together we will learn the science and the process of making fresh local fish or shrimp ceviche at home!

 – Caribbean Shrimp and Pineapple Stir-Fry

– Fresh jumbo shrimp, tossed in a jerk marinade and sauteed with sweet pineapple, bell peppers and red onions. Served over Coconut Lime Rice.

 -Spicy Jerk Lionfish Escovitch

– Local and Delicious Lionfish, seasoned with a homemade jerk marinade and pan fried to perfection, topped Escovitch style with a tangy pickled blend of onions, garlic, ginger, bell and spicy chili peppers.

*Garden City Classes are held at 107 Atlantic Ave Garden City, SC 29576. We are on the South Side of the Building, adjacent to the public parking lot near Sam’s Corner.
